The AD1987 audio CODEC and SoundMAX software provide superior HD Audio quality that exceeds Vista Premium performance. The AD1987 has 8 DACs and 4 ADCs, 3 stereo headphone ports, C/LFE swapping, digital and analog PCBeep and S/PDIF, making AD1987 the right choice for desktop PCs where performance is the primary consideration.

The jack retasking feature supports various configurations including platforms for 7.1 on 5 jacks, 5.1 on 3 jacks and front panel jack retasking.
